The Host City & State: Edison ,New Jersey ...The Event :  Battle Of The Border Drug Free Powerlifting Championships . One hundred & twelve Drug Free athletes from all over the east coast area   converged & overwhelmed the Edison Hotel Main Ballroom on Sunday June  5th 2016  with their awesome display of raw drug free power ... Powerlifting at its very best ...Troy Ford President of the WNPF & the WNPF staff decided to run a two session event with all the women's weight classes , divisions & men classes up to the 181 group in one powerfully conducted production . Flawless spotting & loading by the WNPF staff. The Judging was on point and fair with the Referees available to speak with  a lifter if the lift was failed from one of the many technical problems that might have happen during the lift .     The 1st session started at 9am sharp & ending with the awards ceremony by 2;15 pm  ....The 2nd session started at 3pm with the men's 198 class thru super heavy weights and ending at 9pm with the individual awards and the awarding of the Best Team award. All 112 athletes are to be commended for their discipline and excellent professional demeanor concerning the timing of each lift taken both in the warm up area as well as the main lifting stage . The General camaraderie between the athletes , coaches,Helpers , spotters, referees and the warm hearted very loud power- fans  helped make this event successful.  The Missing Link Team from White Plains New York is celebrating their 35th year of gathering Athletes together and entering Drug Free Powerlifting events . This team has had a few characters in its time Training Drug Free Athletes for Full Powerlifting events . As always the 2016 version of the Missing Link Team has new lifters getting their Feet wet on the Iron Platform. The White Plains based Team Trains at The Missing Link Yard every morning at 6am .... At this event we were honored to carry the message of LIFT & HAVE FUN to a new group of highly dedicated athletes   .  The Old School Lifters once again provide excellent training methods and positive attitudes for all the lifters to thrive & Grow , plus learn a few tips from the newcomers. The Missing Link Policy of NO use of PECs ( Performance Enhancing Chemicals ) at their Yard is the only requirement for training with the Mysterious Linkers.  At this point in our awesome history we are training & completing Totally Raw ,only a non -supportive lifting singlet and a weight lifting belt .The Missing Link was founded in 1981 by a few lifters . Other lifters  before 1981 started the Link team  before the oldest current member ( Pete Gisondi Jrs) time  . There is and has been Missing Link Teams Before The 1981 one squad united but we trace our current history to 1981 ....Every time our team rumbles on the lifting platform we reaffirm our teams mission to provide a safe and healthy lifestyle choice without using PECs without pointing fingers or mocking other lifters choices on how they complete .  After all we are all brothers and sisters of the Iron game .  Our Team supports all lifters and federations. We Love Heavy weights . We Love all Lifters .This Team put a solid Performance together with 16 athletes gracing the main Platform making the judges and spotters assignments easy , WE LIFT ALL ..WE EAT ALL..
